A new update to the Windows 10 Mobile Preview (Build 10549) arrived today on the Fast Ring to little fanfare and a bit of mucking around with OS rollbacks. Changes of note are around the messaging app and its new emoji character set which allows for a more diverse range of characters.
If you’re upgrading from Windows 8.1 it’s plain sailing however if you’ve been running the last Preview Build (10536.1004), you will have to use the Device Recovery Tool to roll back to 8.1 before you can upgrade.
No news yet if overall stability has improved in this release but with the impending arrival of the Lumia 950 and 950XL, the complete OS is likely to be coming soon and then the phones will finally be on par with PCs.
Full details of the update can be found here.

Glad the updates are working for you. The first preview update I did on my Nokia 630 basically killed my phone from receiving future updates (kept failing). In the end I gave up (couldn’t be bothered reverting the phone back to 8) and went back to an iPhone 4. 🙂

It’s working better but still not confident that they’ve fixed everything – internet sharing / mobile hotspot looks like something that hasn’t been fixed up yet. 😦
