Star Wars Campaigns Revisited #12 – The Second Adventures (Part 3 of 3)

The second published adventures

The second set of adventures were played over sessions 31 to 43 (12 sessions total) and closed out the Star Wars storyline with a cliff hanger. As before this covers what I ran as the Games Master and how my players ran through the storyline. It will contain spoilers and a few twists not in the books.

Force and Destiny – Adventure “Ghosts of Dathomir”

3 sessions from the 30th of November 2018 to the 11th of January 2019.

As we start the final adventure for this group there is an object of significance on sale which has caught the interest of the Force wielders of the party. Doing some research they track down the buyer only to find that he has been kidnapped and the artefact has been taken. Not wanting to lose out on this possible connection to the Jedi, the players use their underworld connections to learn that the seller has been taken to an estate on the outskirts of town.

Tracking down this estate, they infiltrate it and manage to rescue the seller. They also retrieve the artefact while facing down an Imperial Inquisitor who was trying to walk off with the artefact. It was a close battle but they force the Inquisitor to flee before having to exit the estate themselves after a rather noisy battle. Examining the artefact they discover that it does have a connection to the Force and is a broken piece, leading them to wonder where it came from and if there is more to the artefact. Through it they have visions of the past, present and future; questioning the seller they trace the artefact to the previous owner who they have to save them from themselves before an encounter with Imperial Intelligence. Fleeing the planet they learn the artefact came from a world not well known.

Arriving in a new system and landing at the coordinates of where the artefact was recovered, they explore an abandoned city only to discover that it was a starship refinery the size of a star destroyer. Making their way don to the base of it is at least a kilometre underground where they fight with the Inquisitor again and her minions before destroying the artefact and bringing the refinery down around them. They had successfully stopped the artefact from falling into the wrong hands even if it was eventually at the cost of their own characters.
