A new post from 343’s Bonnie Ross has announced the gifts that will be bestowed on owners of Halo: The Master Chief Collection who have played the game online since its launch.
The most notable of these is the addition of the Halo 3 ODST campaign as DLC for the game.
Originally intended to be more like an expansion pack for Halo 3, ODST eventually turned out to be more than that thanks to a campaign played in flashback from multiple perspectives. Taking place in New Mombasa, a key location in Halo 2, it evokes a different mood through its nighttime locations and a jazz style soundtrack.
Having the central characters voiced by actors from Firefly and Battlestar Galactica further added to its credibility with fans.
On Xbox One, it will be running at 1080p and 60fps so expect it to be similar to the work already done with Halo 3. Unfortunately no new multiplayer modes will be included so those wishing for Firefight too will be disappointed.
In addition, players will also receive an extra months of Xbox Live and exclusive in game avatar and nameplate. Finally, a remake of “Relic” will be a new map for Halo 2 Anniversary and be available to all players for free.
All of this will be available in Spring of 2015. For more information, check out the FAQ.

With ODST being included as DLC for the package, we have to assume that Halo Reach will also arrive in that fashion too.
If that is the case, it could give MCC a lot of legs for the long term and provide extraordinary value if the game continues to get support over time… and if the multiplayer issues are put to sleep for good.
