For those fans of the Kickstarter success Wasteland 2, the developers at inXile Entertainment have announced that the upcoming Game of the Year Edition due to arrive in the coming months for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will also be provided as a free upgrade for existing owners of the game.

The upgrade is quite a significant one with the game moving to the latest version of the Unity game engine to take advantage of new rendering technologies and putting it on par with the console versions. In addition, content has received an added boost with updates to character models and additional voice work for companions. Finally the gameplay has been tweaked and enhanced with new perks and precision strike systems.

So what we’ll be getting is the most polished version of the game yet. And everyone gets to benefit from it too which is a brilliant gesture and will certainly help get people excited for their upcoming Kickstarter for The Bard’s Tale IV.
