One of the most anticipated titles for me this year is Forza Motorsport 6.

They have announced some more cars coming.  Remember there will be 450 cars in the main game when it gets released September 15.  Those who pre-order the Forza Motorsport 6: Ulimate Edition also get to play the game 5 days early (Sept 10) and get a couple of new car packs for Forza Horizon 2 plus a load of extras.  What is interesting to note is that I haven’t been able to find the ultimate edition version as a retail product.

1975 BMW #25 BMW Motorsport 3.0 CSL

If its flamboyant BMW Motorsport livery and audacious body kit don’t convince you this car is truly something special, then its history surely will. First, the 3.0 Coupe Sport Lightweight (better known as the CSL) debuted the official red, purple and blue colors of BMW Motorsport. Then it made its mark on nearly every major race series around the world. Deemed the “Batmobile” by worldwide fans, the CSL earned its lightweight moniker with a lithe aluminum body that helped make it a crowd and driver favorite. Marking the beginning of BMW Motorsport’s racing heritage, the 3.0 CSL was campaigned in Group 2 through Group 5 classes in Europe and America. The unprecedented success it saw, driven by legendary racers like Brian Redman, Sam Posey and Hans Stuck (to name just a few), make the CSL one of the most successful production racers of all time. It’s a supermodel among the most elite of homologation specials. If you can take your eyes off it for a moment to get behind the wheel, the driving experience will prove its looks aren’t the only reason to admire the mighty CSL.

2014 BMW #55 BMW Team RLL Z4 GTE

When Team Rahal Letterman Lanigan (RLL) brought the Z4 GTE to bear, it marked both the end of one era and the dawn another for one of BMW Motorsport’s most successful teams. Having seen much success with its BMW M3 GT, Team RLL embarked on a new road to glory with its Z4 GTE (in a bold new BMW Motorsport livery) in the Tudor United Sportcar Championship’s GT LeMans (GTLM) class. At their first GTLM race, drivers Bill Auberlin, Andy Priaulx and Joey Hand took the #55 Z4 to a second-in-class podium at the 2014 24 Hours of Daytona. It was the beginning of a very successful year for Team RLL in the newly-married conflagration of the American Le Mans Series and Grand Am racing series. The long nose, gigantic rear wing and stout fenders, which accommodate the Z4 GTE’s Michelin Racing tires make the car’s racing heritage clear. It’s up to you, the driver, to put these elements to work on the track and represent for the makers of the “ultimate driving machine.”
