It’s a long time coming but the team over at Respawn have finally brought back the popular horde mode Frontier Defense to Titanfall 2. Originally appearing as an update to the first Titanfall, the mode allowed support four players in co-op and tasked them with protecting a harvester against waves of enemies. I wish this had had arrived sooner but it won’t stop me from digging out the game again and checking it out because it was such a great addition to the first one that I don’t see any reason why it won’t work here as well.
Also included in the appropriately named “Operation Frontier Shield” update are two additional maps – one new and the other remastered from the first game. Finally there’s warpaints that not only decorate your Titans and weapons but provide XP boosts too. All of this arrives on the 25th of July and is free.
Titanfall 2 is out now on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
This is great news. Frontier Defense was a great game mode for the original Titanfall so to have this type of mode in Titanfall 2 is great. Plus Titanfall 2 will be getting Xbox One X 4k support as well so that will further extend the life of this game.
