Now this is a surprise.
An announcement today by Major Nelson has provided details of the forthcoming preview update for Xbox 360 owners who subscribed via the console preview program.
After accepting for so long that my 360’s saves will be confined to the meager internal HDD and any USB sticks I could find, it seems now there’s going to be support for HDDs with up to 2TB of storage which should be more than enough for most gamers.
Seeing an Xbox One feature (that was also a post launch system update) migrate to the 360 is a awesome and kudos to Microsoft for continuing to support the system. I know I’m happy with the prospect of having enough room now to store all of my Games with Gold titles.
I wonder too if this means we might see a cheaper 360 arrive in the future minus an optical drive, or even a hard drive? With external drive support about to arrive, it could certainly make it possible.

Almost makes me wish I still had my 360. 🙂
