Wow, time has flown for me this month and before I even realized it… BANG… there’s another of the monthly content releases for Halo 5 : Guardians ready to dive into. Titled “Hammer Storm”, this one brings in a new Arena map called Torque as well as a couple of additional game modes in the form of Assault, Fiesta Slayer and the always popular Grifball.
Of course when one has Grifball, one must also have something big to smash over the heads of enemies with. So bundled in with the update is the Gravity Hammer (first useable by players in Halo 3), the weapon of choice for Grifballers the world over.
And if that wasn’t enough, the pistol from Halo: Combat Evolved makes its return too in all its overpowered glory. Though it has to be noted it’ll be restricted to Warzone and Forge so don’t expect to rile up players in Arena through pistol superiority.
And just to keep the fans hungry for more, developer 343 Industries has begun to tease future content, the big one being that the much requested Firefight mode from Halo 3: ODST will make its return in the coming months as a new mode for Warzone. With the current modes already showing that they can handle having AI combatants in the field with other players, I’m looking forward to seeing how it will turn out with (hopefully) a much greater number of them on a map at once.
More details of the update can be found via Halo Waypoint here.
