With the imminent arrival of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on DVD and Blu-ray, a teaser for the next step in the franchise’s return to world domination is finally here.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the first of hopefully many movies that take the building blocks of the trilogies and forge their own tales with new and interesting characters. In the case of Rogue One it revolves around a team of Rebels tasked with obtaining the Death Star plans prior to the events of the first Star Wars film (Episode IV: A New Hope).

It’s cool seeing again the classic trilogy designs in the ships and stormtroopers and there’s also enough teases in the trailer itself (Mon Mothma!) to let you know that this is clearly intended to find a place neatly within the prior films.

The movie will arrive this December.
