Fallout Shelter coming to Xbox Play Anywhere

This is a bit of a surprise – Bethesda’s free to play spin-off of Fallout 4 will be arriving on Xbox One and Windows 10 as a full Xbox Play Anywhere title.

Previously on iOS, Android and PC via the Bethesda.net launcher, Fallout Shelter tasks you as Overseer of your own Vault to build it up while dealing with Raiders, disasters and other nasties.

The game isn’t too complicated but there is enough in it to keep you occupied for a little while and content has been added to it regularly since launch.

Further details can be found on Major Nelson’s website. The game will be available from February 7.

  1. I was really surprised to see this announced for console release. I know it has done well on iOS/Android, and that it was just a spin off to accompany the Fallout 4 release, but will people actually play this on their consoles or PC’s? Surely not.

Sat on the loo whilst at work? Yes.
Sat on the sofa, at home when you’ve got AAA titles to play? Nah.

    • It does seem an odd choice of game for Bethesda to release but it could just be them testing the waters of Xbox Play Anywhere and seeing how it works. In a couple of years the next Elder Scrolls or Fallout might be released this way. Hopefully neither of those will be loo friendly! 😉
