The team over at Frontier Developments have just announced (via YouTube, see below) when the next chapter in Elite Dangerous: Beyond is arriving later this month. August 28th is when we get to see for ourselves what’s new but further details are planned to be revealed at Gamescom next week. If anything pops up of interest we’ll share the details as per usual.

With No Man’s Sky‘s VERY substantial update still fresh in many player’s minds it’s going to be hard for anything done here to attract the same kind of hype or attention but the developers had a very clear game plan with how they were handling updates this year and have done well to stick by their schedule. With luck though it might provide some inspiration for new directions to pursue with future updates.

Elite Dangerous is out now for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
