PAX Australia 2018 – Day Two, “Make a Strip” in Pictures

With Mike Krahulik unable to attend PAX Australia this year, Jerry Holkins teamed up again with Kris Straub to do the live webcomic and Q/A session. Time wasn’t on their side this time around so the completed comic will likely appear much later on Penny Arcade. I’ve taken a few photos (see below) so you can at least see it pretty close to completion. 🙂

There was a great little panel today with Plastic Wax, an Australian company responsible for recent game trailers such as Hitman 2, Lego DC Super-Villains and Neverwinter: Ravenloft. It’s obvious that they have quite a fondness for the properties they are able to work on and go to considerable effort to ensure that their work fits such testing how many jokes they can fit into Lego game cinematics (known for their humour) and even rolling up actual RPG characters to help define those in scripts for Ravenloft. Despite his tender age, my son is quite a big Fortnite fan and asked me if I could find anyone there he’d recognise from Twitch streams or if there was any merchandise that I could get my hands on. Closest thing I could see was an emote dance competition (see pic below) but there’s a good chance I’ll find something more tomorrow.

Now that I think of it, maybe I should enter that comp wearing my PUBG “Winner Winner Chicken Dinner” t-shirt and see if that starts something… 😉
