Plants, water, killer robots in March 2019’s Xbox Games with Gold

News of what was to come in the next Xbox Games with Gold was kept to the last minute but it’s finally been revealed on Major Nelson’s site. Apart from another original Xbox game the rest are new to me so I’m looking forward to what’s in store for everyone.

Games for the month are:

  • Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion (March 1-31, Xbox One) – I know nothing at all about this but wow… I really like how this looks! Made me think of an Adventure Time version of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker… I’d imagine it might not reach those lofty heights though. 😉
  • Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 (March 16-April 15, Xbox One) – taking the original Plants vs Zombies formula into the realms of shooters was a surprising shift and unfortunately for me when I finally checked out the first game interest from gamers was at a low. Hopefully with the sequel appearing on GwG there’ll be an uptick in the number of players and I can give it a fair look.
  • Star Wars Republic Commando (March 1-15, Xbox BC) – I played this on the original Xbox when it was released and it was a great game for the time which looked great and gave off a good Star Wars vibe. I’ll be curious to see if there’s any enhancements to improve it in backward compatibility.
  • Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (March 16-31, Xbox 360 BC) – everyone’s favourite whiny cyborg ninja in back in another game. I’ve been wanting to check this one out for a while (Platinum Games doing Metal Gear? YES!) so this is the perfect opportunity to do so.
