It’s the first day of PAX Australia and after working overnight yesterday I’m still running low on the batteries but I still had to jump in as early as I could to make sure I didn’t miss anything I wanted to see. Did mean it’s not been as long a day as planned but I’ve enjoyed it.

The big one for me today was always going to be Cyberpunk 2077 and the theatre was packed out for this first presentation of the show. We weren’t able to record anything or take pictures when it started but it looked like a more complete version of what has previously been demonstrated and with Johnny Silverhand (Keanu Reeves) now taking his place in the narrative too. Seeing more pieces fitting together is really helping to make the vision for the game much clearer and I’m liking it all lot. 🙂
In the exhibition hall all the console makers had a decent amount of space all filled with demo stations and nestled amongst those were publishers such as Ubisoft and THQ Nordic. Xbox also had. mini theatre set up for Cyberpunk 2077 for anyone missing out on the live presentation so some close ties there.
Tomorrow I think I’ll have to get nostalgic again in the classic gaming area – always find something new/old I’ve never seen before that I have to play. There’s also the yearly “make a strip” session too which I’ve not missed since I started going to PAX. Should be fun. 🙂
