It’s the end of the year and we’re getting early notice on the first batch of Games with Gold titles for 2020. Full details are here on Major Nelson’s site but in short we’ve got on the way:
- Styx: Shards of Darkness (Jan 1-21, Xbox One)
- Batman: The Telltale Series (Jan 16-Feb 15, Xbox One)
- Tekken 6 (Jan 1-15, Xbox 360 BC)
- Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (Jan 16-Jan 31, Xbox 360 BC)
It’s surprising seeing that Telltale has become like one of its old games and is not entirely dead. But with the highly regarded Batman still available and a new season of The Wolf Among Us coming there might be hope for the future of the developer. Lego Star Wars II seems ancient in the grand scheme of Lego games (it was released in 2006!) but for fans of the original trilogy who don’t have 2007’s Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga it’s a fun game with some great humour.
I’m still thinking that Games with Gold is nearing it’s end now that Game Pass has found its footing and is slowly drawing in the other services. When xCloud arrives plus the new console we’ll perhaps know if it has a long term future but it seems for the time being we’re going to getting more games with our subscriptions. 🙂
Nothing is very exciting for me. Game Pass is absolutely perfect though! I’m considering the next Xbox just for that.
