Kicking goals, fighting monsters in May 2020’s Xbox Games with Gold

The end of the month has crept up on me and before I’d even thought about it the announcement for May’s Xbox Games with Gold titles showed up in my feed. Full details can be be found on Xbox Wire but the short of it is:

  • V-Rally 4 (Xbox One, May 1-31)
  • Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr (Xbox One, May 16-Jun 15)
  • Sensible World of Soccer (Xbox 360 BC, May 1-15)
  • Overlord II (Xbox 360 BC, May 16-31)

The Warhammer 40K title looks like a neat Diablo-like game that could be fun when teaming up with up to four mates. Hopefully you never have to use the game’s full name in conversation because it overuses punctuation more than I do. 😉

A bit curious to check out Sensible World of Soccer again to be honest. I didn’t get past the demos when first released in its earlier Atari ST incarnation or even the XBLA update but the original was highly respected and I keep thinking it might be the kind of sports game I could get into even if it’s in small doses. I suppose I will find out very soon!

UPDATE – So… I did try out Sensible World of Soccer and unfortunately it’s not for me. I think it might also be that the game quality is pretty average and feels like a very cheap port. Plus when the “classic” mode is better visually than the “enhanced” it’s not a good sign. Oh well… onto V-Rally!
