It feels like the end of the month arrived a lot faster than expected thanks to the rush of Gamescom announcements distracting us with fancy new consoles and release dates – I’m looking at you Halo Infinite. Anyway, the games for September’s Xbox Games with Gold are:

• Warhammer: Chaosbane (Xbox, Sep 1-30)
• Mulaka (Xbox, Sep 16-Oct 15)
• Zone of the Enders HD Collection (Xbox 360 BC, Sep 1-15)
• Samurai Shodown II (Xbox 360 BC, Sep 16-30)

Of the four games I’m most curious about Warhammer: Chaosbane as I think a co-op Action RPG is an easy win for a lot of players wanting a Diablo style fix. Zone of the Enders HD Collection will only interest people based on Kojima’s name but even then I’m not sure it’ll be enough to attract people.

I do think this month’s titles are going to find it hard to distract players from their Game Pass catalogues. Especially when they’re up against new games such as Hades and Psychonauts 2. With the next few months delivering even more high profile Game Pass releases there’s a big chance Games with Gold may become an afterthought for many people… Let’s see what happens!
