With the Fallout 76 beta arriving on Xbox One October 23 (with PC and PlayStation 4 a week later), Xbox Wire posted up further details of what what players should expect.
Like similar betas, the point of this is to give players a taste of the final game whilst stress testing the server infrastructure which the new game relies on heavily. Both give the team at Bethesda an idea of what works (or not) and a small amount of time to address them.
A new trailer was also released with the news announcement:
I’m of two minds with Fallout 76. A multiplayer Fallout could be great and a sign of what path future RPGs from the developer will take. On the other hand if it impacts the quality of content presented to solo players I’m not sure if it’s a path I’d want to follow.
Fallout 76 will launch on November 14.
I’m looking at Fallout 76 like I did with ESO when it first released. I think it’s going to take time for this game to be great. I don’t think it’s going to be well received at first, but it’ll improve over time like ESO did. I could be wrong, but that’s what I think :).

That’s a really great point – they would have learned a lot from ESO. 🙂
