The month is almost done and the batch of games for October’s Xbox Games with Gold are almost ready to roll out. Full details can be found here but the games coming are:

• Aaero (Xbox, Oct 1-31)
• Hover (Xbox, Oct 16-Nov 15)
• Castlevania: Harmony of Despair (Xbox 360 BC, Oct 1-15)
• Resident Evil Code: Veronica X (Xbox 360 BC, Oct 16-31)

With how the games are being described in the video below I’m getting some nice retro vibes from both Aaero and Hover and are thinking of Wipeout and Jet Set Radio Future respectively. Both of those games have disappeared off many player’s radars so anything that brings the old fun back might be work checking out.

Castlevania HD was a big deal on Xbox 360 being one of the first games in the franchise to appear on Microsoft’s console. It’s high definition looks (hence the HD) and multiplayer support made it a unique entry. Having another classic Resident Evil game come to players is never a bad thing either and Code: Veronica has its own fans too. I’m not a big follower of the franchise and only played RE4 and RE5, which are almost ancient now, but it’s good to see more Capcom titles get added to player catalogues. 🙂
