With the countdown starting to the end of 360 games as part of Games with Gold, we see the final push of titles before the change takes place. As reported on Xbox Wire, the games in question are:

• Calico (Xbox, Aug 1-31)
• ScourgeBringer (Xbox, Aug 16-Sep 15)
• Saint’s Row 2 (Xbox 360 BC, Aug 1-15)
• Monaco: What’s Yours is Mine (Xbox 360 BC, Aug 16-31)

Both Monaco and Saint’s Row 2 are games that a lot of players might already have in their collection due to sales or previous GwG giveaways. Certainly Saint’s Row 2 is considered a notable title in the series as it’s here the developers began to find a direction away from being a straight Grand Theft Auto clone. I’d still like to think Games with Gold might end the 360 era on a high note but it’s hard to tell if that is possible now. Giving away classic versions of Halo isn’t really of value now that The Master Chief Collection is in a state that makes it the best way to play the games. I don’t think Fable 2 ever made an appearance on the program… at least from my own collection it’s not there. And with there being no more classic games added to backward compatibility there may not be a lot of options. Would be nice to imagine a couple of new BC games get included as a surprise or maybe even a classic Call of Duty being given away as a sign of the future…
