As announced on Xbox Wire, October’s Games with Gold has been revealed and with the absence of Xbox 360 games, the titles on offer ha unfortunately been halved. The games coming for the month are:

• Windbound (Oct 1-31)
• Bomber Crew Deluxe Edition (Oct 16-Nov 15)

There was some hope that maybe those two backward compatible games might be replaced with Xbox One title (at least) but clearly that’s not happening. Of course Microsoft are wanting everyone to migrate over to Game Pass so changing the value proposition of the Gold subscription is an obvious tactic.

That’s got to be big part of it but I also wonder if some of it could also be from the developer/publisher side too – if they get way better deals on Game Pass they’re going to steer clear of Gold. Is it a sign of the end coming? As always, time will tell!
