Yes I know this is a bit late but there is lots of gaming goodness to wrap up October. I’ve picked out some highlights.

Halo 5: Guardians

What can be said about this one that you probably haven’t already read if you are a Halo fan? Well, for starters this Halo actually works out of the box, both in single player and multiplayer. The new Warzone mode is amazing fun and the refined game mechanics make it feel closer to more modern shooters, while retaining that classic Halo feel. For example, you can now sprint but that means there is a delay before your shields are recharged. The campaign has been copping a bit of flack with other critics but so far I’m really enjoying it. It is great to see Halo return to form again. The only criticism – no split-screen support for couch gaming.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate

I personally haven’t picked this up yet as Fallout 4 is just around the corner and I want to sink my teeth into that but from all reports Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is a return to form. Unity left a pretty average taste in the mouth despite the co-op gameplay so the Victorian London setting in Syndicate really sets the scene. Some gaming friends of mine have assured me that Syndicate is much improved.
