Playstation VR requires 60 square feet of space to operate properly

Polygon have released a very interesting article that goes into the nuts and bolts of the upcoming PlayStation VR.

Apparently you’ll need 6 by 10 feet for the headset and camera to work properly. So be prepared to make more room than you ever had to for the Kinect.

The PlayStation Camera, which is required to use the VR headset, needs a cleared play area of about 9.8 feet by 6.2 feet, according to a sales brochure for the device.

For more on this read the Polygon write up.

  1. I had a hard enough time making room when I first got a Wii… They probably also don’t want gamers running into walls and falling down staircases, while trying to save the world from that evil final boss.
