Oh my goodness. Loading Red Dead Redemption last night with the new 4K resolution on the X, I am so impressed with what Microsoft continues to do in the realm of Backward Compatibility. It is a smart move and provides further build up to the release of the RDR sequel. Bringing back the original xbox and 360 games in an enhanced way (4K) is just a stroke of genius.
Other new 360 games that have been given a 9x resolution boost on the Xbox One X are:
Darksiders, Gears of War 2 (yes), Portal 2 and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
What’s just as exciting is that one of my favourite original Xbox games is also getting the resolution boost and decent treatment, Jade Empire. This is a great action RPG made by Bioware and shouldn’t be missed.
By the end of April these original Xbox games will be available on the Xbox One and have great graphic upgrades on the X. Apart I can’t wait to play Star Wars Republic Commando and Star Wars Jedi Starfighter again.
- Blinx: The Time Sweeper
- Breakdown
- Conker: Live & Reloaded
- The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
- Hunter: The Reckoning
- Jade Empire
- Panzer Dragoon Orta
- SSX 3
- Destroy All Humans!
- Full Spectrum Warrior
- Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction
- MX Unleashed
- Panzer Elite Action: Fields of Glory
- Star Wars Battlefront II
- Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
- Star Wars Jedi Starfighter
- Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
- Star Wars Republic Commando
Not going to lie, as cool as it is to have all these backwards compatible games and resolution upgrades. I feel like Microsoft really need look towards the future, we need some new titles!

Do agree about new games but being a long time Xbox owner I also like the chance to play all the older games I missed previously without having to dig my old consoles out. I’d even bought a few original Xbox games not long after the 360 launched because I missed them the first time through and now I finally get to play them at their best. So I’ll finally get to start playing both Battlefronts! 🙂

I haven’t played either of them either! I had the original Xbox too, but I missed out on a lot of great titles, as I was only 10 years old at the time. So wouldn’t get new games that often, only problem I have now, is finding the time to play new games as well as old ones lol

Definitely know how you feel about finding time! I’m being selective about what BC games I play as some of them haven’t aged well and they need to be VERY good to intrude on my PUBG time. 🙂

Hello Grocs, I really enjoyed reading your article on the late night session. I have not played red dead in ages, I will have to give it a go on my Xbox One X later tonight. Great games list, I think Xbox is the best console out there and most powerful.
What is everyone else’s view, do you prefer Xbox?

Hey techgamery, there is plenty to like on the Xbox. Playing State of Decay 2 and that has me pretty hooked at the moment. Keep an eye our for Night Owl’s blog post on the E3 2018 Xbox briefing. Plenty of good stuff coming. I’m really excited for The Crew 2, out later this month. In answer to your question, yes, I’m an Xbox fan for sure. I do have a PS4 Pro as well so I don’t miss out on some decent Sony exclusives but overall my main gaming platform is Xbox.
