The end of February swiftly approached and so the next round of games for Xbox Games with Gold has been announced. Full details can be found here but the games in question are:

• Warface: Breakout (Mar 1-31)
• VALA: Vicious Attack Llama Apocalypse (Mar 16-Apr 15)
• Metal Slug 3 (Xbox 360 BC, Mar 1-15)
• Port Royale 3 (Xbox 360 BC, Mar 16-31)

Apart from Metal Slug 3 which is part of probably the “most New Geo” franchise out there (if you don’t count The King of Fighters) the rest are new to me. Because of the llama reference it’s easy to think at first VALA might be a Jeff Minter / Llamasoft game but turns out it’s a twin stick shooter from a different studio. With the furry beasts on the receiving end of player weapons it’s certainly not a Minter game… and now thinking about his games I wish we would see more of them on Xbox…
