It looks like the first round of Xbox’s Games with Gold in the new year will be bringing a mix of new and familiar titles to subscribers.

For Xbox One games there’s World of Van Helsing: Deathtrap (1-31 Jan) which combines action RPG and tower defence elements. For those wanting something a little more in your face, Killer Instinct Season 2 Ultra Edition (16 Jan – 15 Feb) brings more content for fighting fans, including the bonus Killer Instinct 2 Classic.

Xbox 360 games arriving begin with The Cave (1-15 Jan), a hybrid platformer and adventure game from Ron Gilbert and end with platformer Rayman Origins (16-31 Jan).

Rayman Legends I enjoyed a lot on the Xbox One so having a chance to play its predecessor I’m looking forward to. The Cave and KI are known quantities too which I’m also keen to check out again as well. No need for new year’s resolutions I suppose when you can get a bunch of games for free?
