Games with Gold for September has been announced by Xbox’s Major Nelson and includes the following titles:

• Forza Motorsport 5 – Sep 1-30, Xbox One
• Oxenfree – Sep 16-Oct 15, Xbox One
• Hydro Thunder Hurricane – Sep 1-15, Xbox 360
• Battlefield 3 – Sep 16-30, Xbox 360

With the upcoming arrival of Forza Motorsport 7 it makes sense to see an earlier entry in the series to appear at this time. Forza 5 was a launch title for the Xbox One back in 2013 and still holds up well as a racer.

For the adventure fans there’s Oxenfree, a supernatural thriller set on an old military island. I missed this game when it first arrived so keen to look at it now. For those wanting a bit more pace, Hydro Thunder Hurricane is a 360 version of the old Midway arcade titles. As a pick up and play arcade racer it does well and looks good doing it.

Finally, with Battlefield 3 you’ve got a big scale military shooter with plenty of bells and whistles. The campaign is a bit average and it’s hard to know if there is still anyone interested in the multiplayer but with it being free for the month there’s a really great chance of it getting a boost to the player count.
