Original Xbox games now arrive on backward compatibility

Well, that arrived sooner than expected! It looks like the first batch of original Xbox games that are backward compatible are now available. For users with the original game discs, the process works the same as it does for the Xbox 360 titles. Like those, digital versions of the titles are now available too for just under $10US.

The games now available:

  • Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
  • Ninja Gaiden Black
  • Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge
  • Fuzion Frenzy
  • Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
  • Psychonauts
  • Dead to Rights
  • Black
  • Grabbed by the Ghoulies
  • Sid Meier’s Pirates!
  • Red Faction II
  • BloodRayne 2
  • The King of Fighters Neowave

Just a couple of my games that I will be testing out on the new console…

It’s a good mix of titles that include some platform defining games too. I still have a few of these so will definitely be testing it out and seeing how it works. If there’s a criticism to be made, it’s with the initial pricing which I think may be too much. Many of these games can be bought cheaper elsewhere and they may not all compare well to newer titles of similar value.

However the attraction of playing these again with even better graphical quality is sure to appeal to a lot of players.
