Microsoft’s X018 event had plenty of surprises in in for fans but there were a fair share of announcements too. In the case of Forza Horizon 4 we got our first glimpse at the first of the game’s expansions. Take a look at the video below to see the details plus news of additional cars that are incoming.
I’m of two minds on this at the moment purely because Fortune Island sounds like Playground Games may be taking the “safe” route in this expansion. Forza Horizon 2 had Storm Island, Forza Horizon 3 had Blizzard Mountain so this approach of providing a separate location with extreme terrain and weather is getting a bit too predictable. However I could still be surprised – the Hot Wheels expansion did that for me.
I’d really like to see one of these games let players seamlessly drive between locations (ie. without a load screen) and make this feel like an extension to the map and not something else that you have to load. Fortune Island is not far away… it’s arriving on December 13 so we’ll soon get to see what’s been done to make this stand out from the rest.
Forza Horizon 4 is out now for PC and Xbox One.
