If it wasn’t enough that Hello Games continue to produce a truck load of content for No Man’s Sky they’ve added yet another massive update to the game that enables cross platform multiplayer! The full patch notes can be found here and coincides with the game also appearing on Xbox Game Pass for both console and PC meaning not only is the game being brought to the attention of a lot more players but they’re going to be able to join up with a substantial number of existing players too. The way your in-game friends are handled looks quite robust with it not only managing friends from your platform of choice but also allowing you to share a friend code that’s unique to the game. I already have friends who’re getting back into the game thanks to this news so it’s a winning move. The only thing missing for me now it seems is cross-save so I can take my PC home base stationed on a nice safe world and continue playing on Xbox. Regardless of that I’m once again impressed. 🙂
No Man’s Sky is out now for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
At least the GOG PC gamers can play now with the Steam players 🙂
