Fallout 4 gets all moddy on Xbox One real soon

Reported on Major Nelson amongst others, Bethesda’s latest RPG will become the first of its type on consoles to support user created mods.

Xbox One players of Fallout 4 will be the first starting from sometime today (May 31st, time not confirmed) with PlayStation 4 players waiting a further month for their turn. With at least 600 mods available from launch it will be interesting to see if it catches on with console players.

But there are some restrictions – you won’t be able to earn achievements while playing the game with mods active and apparently you will also need to have all of the DLC too. Seeing as I’m still working my way through the game and its DLC this probably means I won’t be checking these out for a while yet but there’s some interesting stuff out there… playable ghouls! 🙂

  1. I read somewhere too that for the Xbox One Mods they will have a size limit of 2gb. I find it a bit disappointing (although understandable) that you can’t earn achievements have any mods equipped though. Certainly puts me off wanting to use them until I have finished the game.
