I realise today is the 1st of June so I’m a bit behind with the game releases. First up are May’s worthy mentions:

Uncharted 4:  A Thief’s End

Suffice to say you’ve probably heard of this one. Those of you who own a PS4 will find it incredibly hard to resist picking this one up. The Uncharted series is what has sold quite a few PlayStation units over the years. Personally I haven’t had a chance to pick this one up yet but that is only because I’ve started playing through the first three games again as part of The Nathan Drake Collection. Once I’ve eased my Elite: Dangerous addiction and completed the first three games again I will definitely grab this. The reviews have been very good indeed.

Doom

I haven’t finished this yet and my early impressions are already here but this is definitely a game worth grabbing if you like old style shooters. If you are like me and have been gaming since the original Doom came out back in 1993 this is a seriously good homage to the Doom of old. Forget the survival horror game play of Doom 3, this reboot is a balls to the wall slug fest from start to finish.

Overwatch

I missed on playing the beta for this earlier in May but many fellow gamers have told me this is a great game and good fun to play. A lot of the current reviews are stating it is a great, easy to get into, multiplayer title. The only multiplayer only title I have bought in the last twelve months was Star Wars: Battlefront and that was only because well, it was Star Wars. I prefer single player campaigns with a multiplayer component (like Doom or Battlefield 4 for example) so it is not likely I will be picking this one up. If you are a multiplayer fan though I’ve heard lots of good things about Overwatch so check it out.

The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine

Finishing off May and heralding the start of June comes The Witcher 3’s final expansion, Blood and Wine. This 20 to 30 hour campaign has Geralt visiting a new land (new content) and is meant to have a lighter tone to the main game’s darker themes. Reviews have been very positive for this game so I am looking forward to checking this out over the weekend. Those of you who bought the season pass – it is all yours ready to download, no additional cost required. If you still haven’t finished playing The Witcher 3 give it another go – my GOTY for 2015. I reviewed the first expansion too, Hearts of Stone and based on that excellent 1st expansion I’d say the season pass is definitely worth it.
